What can we give thanks for?

Warm greetings.
There is quite a buzz around Northfield at the moment! Phil Togwell and Danny Wong arrived this week from the UK to invest their lives in the life of our community. We welcome them warmly. We also hope that you will participate in some of their offerings. Here are some that you can make a note of.
• Sunday at our 6.30 pm service they will be leading our worship. We really hope that you will spread the word and invite others to be part of this gathering.

We come out of a week where Dallas Willard ministered to us deeply which brought much renewal into our lives. Today's focus falls on renewing the foundation of giving.
I think it is safe to say that we are not born giving and that, as children, giving is not part of our "natural development". Rather giving is a function of maturity and children are taught to give and, if not taught, often fail to mature in the absence of a teacher.

Greetings!
I have learned that God promises to give us the strength we need for every day. If we would just listen to Him, and believe that He really does give us strength far beyond our own, we wouldn’t struggle through our days anymore. We wouldn’t feel helpless or drained.
The lyrics from one of my favourite songs describes it best: “I dare you to move, I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor. I dare you to move like today never happened before. Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell. Where are you going to go? Salvation is here!”

Many years ago a world famous theologian and scholar, Dr Karl Barth appeared on German television. Responding to the question, “With all your knowledge and experience, if there was only one comment you could make to the millions of viewers, what would it be?”
He responded, “Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so”.
Some say that the Bible is the most sold book on the planet... and the least read.
