BAPTISMS & DEDICATIONS

Baptisms are a sacrament performed by the church, a blessing on the child by making a cross of water on the forehead and a welcome into the Methodist Faith and the Community of the Church. Parents are included in this moment as they take a commitment to God and community to raise their child in a home filled with Christian values and principles.

Dedications differ from Baptisms, as this a blessing and thanks-giving that is said over the child’s life. Parents are included in this moment, however, are not required to make any commitment to God and community.
